Writing is a Journey: Tips, Lessons and Montessori Perspective for Teachers
Tips, Lessons and Montessori Perspective for Teachers.
“Teaching children to write well is no easy task. Educators can often feel lost as to how best engage and inspire children in the writing process. In Writing is a Journey - Tips, Lessons and Montessori Perspective for Teachers, Fiona has offered up a wealth of innovative, practical and child-centred strategies that she has honed over two decades, and which are sure to inspire a life-long love of writing in young learners.” (Helen Greenwood, education consultant)

About
Writing is a Journey.
In my experience you never can tell where a journey will lead or who you will meet along the way – people or creatures in places real or imagined.
This book is a cumulation of half a lifetime of experiences gained in classrooms with children and colleagues, travels to other parts of the world to seek out knowledge and professional development, all consolidating the foundations of what was to become a deep love of teaching writing. It began in in a NZ public school classroom of six and seven year-olds, brushed by sea breezes, a five teacher haven in the industrial edge of town.
I’m a writer and educator, born and raised in New Zealand, now based in Australia. I’ve spent more than twenty years teaching children ages six to twelve in Montessori classrooms and prior to that in NZ and Australian public schools. Along this journey I developed and honed my expertise towards guiding children in the art and joy of writing.
